True Blue left Miami, FL on the 1st of Feb 2002. Cruised the Caribbean for the next year. Through the Panama canal in Jan 2003. Across the Pacific to New Caledonia, arriving Dec 2003. New Caledonia to Bundaberg Australia in August 2004. The trip covered over 15000 sea miles, and ten time zones. |
The Atlantic and Caribbean Passages

True Blue left Miami, FL on the 1st of Feb 2002.
Overnight sail to Bahamas, then fourteen day sail to Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands.
Island hopped to Trinidad, stopping in most East Caribbean nations. Arrived Trinidad August, 2002
Hopped to Bonaire via the offshore islands of Venezuela. Christmas in Bonaire
Five day sail from Bonaire to the San Blas Islands, Panama, avoiding the coast of Columbia.
Through the Panama Canal, Feb 2003.
The Pacific
Left the South end of the Canal near Panama City, day-sailed to the Las Perlas Islands.
Cruised along the south coast of Panama to Isla Jicaron, Panama
Ten day sail to Wreck Bay, San Cristobal in the Galapagos, Ecuador
Then the long one- twenty eight days to Atuona on Hiva Oa, in the Marquesas Is, French Polynesia. Broke our forestay half way.

Cruised the Marquesas including visits to Oapu, Nuku Hiva, Tahuata.

Five days sail south to Toau, Tuamotus. Hopped to Apataki.
Four days from Apataki to Tahiti.
Island hopped from Tahiti to Bora Bora via Mourea, Raiatea, Huahine.
Fourteen day passage from Bora Bora to Vavau, Tonga.
Cruised around Tonga.
Four day hop from Tonga to Fiji. Cruised from Suva to Musket Cove.
Five day passage from Fiji to New Caledonia. We were originally going straight to Australia, but changed plans half way, arriving December 2003.
Left the boat for the cyclone season in Noumea, flew to Sydney and got jobs.
